Diabetes affects the whole life of an individual like few other diseases and requires a multifaceted approach in its management.

Appropriate and effective treatment provided early on by a specialist along with proper patient education and regular follow up can ensure a healthy and fulfilling life, free of the potentially crippling complications of Diabetes.
Even if complications have set in, proper management can prevent or delay their progression, adding length and quality lo life.

Superior Diabetes Treatment: Every diabetic is different with his/her own unique pathophysiology and social setting. We at DTCC recognize and respect this to offer superior, more effective, personalized care.

Education is key in diabetes management. Dr. Jain is himself a Cerfified Diabetes Educator (C.D.E.). In addition we work with several local Registered Dieticians (R.D.s) and C.D.E.s to help achieve our goals. Important areas emphasized are:

  • Dietary counseling that is practical and tailored to patients lifestyle and capacity
  • Glucose monitoring, goals of control, management of hypoglycemia
  • Insight into how diabetes medications work and time action profile of insulins
  • Role of physical activity, exercise & weight loss.

Insulin Pump Therapy: We offer and support the use of insulin pumps in the appropriate patient. Dr. Jain has many years of experience in managing patients on insulin pumps and uses the latest in insulin pump technology.

Continuous Glucose Monitoring: We make use of this fairly new technology primarily in insulin treated patients to fill the gaps where conventional fingerstick glucose monitoring proves inadequate in meeting glycemic goals.

The Thyroid gland, located in the neck secretes thyroid hormone into the bloodstream. Its essential role is to control the body's metabolic rate. As most hormones it has significant effects on most body organs and tissues.
Some common disorders affecting the thyroid include:
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Thyroid Nodules & Goiters
  • Thyroid Cancer

Fortunately, most thyroid disorders have simple and effective treatments which makes managing these conditions a satisfying experience for both the patient and the physician.

Specialized Treatment of Thyroid Disease: Dr. Jain has received his training and has had research experience in thyroidology under the tutelage of Dr. Lewis Braverman and his team, leading experts in the field at the University of Massachussets Medical Center.

Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound.(E.C.N.U.) is a distinction offered by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology to recognize Endocrinologists who have proven proficiency in performing neck ultrasounds and ultrasound guided thyroid biopsies. Dr. Jain joined the ranks of the few Endocrinologists nationally who have received the E.C.N.U. certification in August 2011.

Thyroid Ultrasound and Ultrasound Guided Thyroid Biopsy, when performed by an endocrinologist trained in its use, it is a powerful tool in the diagnosis & treatment of thyroid diseases. Dr. Jain has been performing thyroid ultrasounds in his practice since 2003.

Endocrinology is the study of the endocrine glands or glands that secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream affecting all tissues in the body that have receptors for the hormone. We specialize in treating other disorders of the endocrine system including:

  • Pituitary
  • Adrenal
  • Parathyroid & Calcium Metabolism
